Toward a new model of therapy
The development of the RICORDO-DTx platform as a Digital Therapeutics (DTx) took place within a project co-founded by Tech Fast Lombardy Call for Proposals, POR-FESR 2014-2020.
According to the DTx paradigm, the digital therapy is similar to the pharmaceutical therapy, in which the active ingredient is not a molecule but a clinically validated algorithm.
The delivery model of digital cognitive rehabilitation at the patient’s home was defined together with the Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation, which provided clinical and scientific guidance to the project.
Don Gnocchi Foundation also involved 20 patients in a design-implementation-evaluation-redesign trial. The results of the trial showed high levels of usability by patients, despite the cognitive difficulties and low level of technological expertise: the system was found to be both easy to use (usability) and easy to learn (learnability).
As a further feature, Astir has developed a prototype for analyzing, via machine learning, the execution patterns of digital rehabs in order to obtain useful data to help the physician and therapist in personalizing the therapy.
The project started on 06/07/2021 and concluded its activities on 11/29/2022.
